recently I´ve been to one of my favourite cities, Hamburg. I went to a very nice & interesting vegan street festival where I enjoyed some excellent food and afterwards spontaneously took a stroll through the old “Speicherstadt” with its high buildings surrounded by water, many of them converted into modern and fashionable offices. Also through the “HafenCity” which is a growing new district beyond the harbour – huge and modern. Very special area! So I took some pics and played around with colors and such. Have a look.
Today, I was lucky to walk with a gorgeous, friendly and…ahem…lively purebred Alaskan Malamute.
Our local shelter presently has 3 of these remarkable dogs from a dog breeder who had to resolve his business. It was a joy to spend the morning with Hardy outdoors, and he sure is very very charming. It´s the first time I encountered an Alaskan Malamute that close and I really am absolutely enchanted.
Maybe next Saturday I bring my running shoes and do him a bit more justice by speeding the “walkies” up a bit…gee!…haw!… 😉
happy new year to you! I hope you stepped into 2017 with a fresh mind and healthy attitude. New beginnings, new chances coming up to make life more interesting, more creative and more inspiring 😉
My creative endeavours lately included lovely walkies where I took some new pics for my ongoing series “snaps transformed”. Have a look and tell me what you think. I stayed true to my priorities here: take a quick snap of what you fancy without too much thought, pick those photos you like most and just zoom them through some fun transformations. For me, it´s always a real good tool to get back into a more serious and regular creative routine. So here they come.
I´ve been out and about again, enjoying outdoors. Here are some of the snaps I transformed.
The first part is from a nice town in north-western Germany, Oldenburg, with a really well-preserved castle and a lovely shopping area, it has a slightly nostalgic “country-side-townish” atmosphere with cute little oldfashioned cafés and nice arts´n-crafts-shops. An enjoyable place.
I took these out in the country, during my various “wonderous walkies”.
I have a holiday ahead of me and am determined to find the time to finish my two handsome faunian fauns. So keep an eye on this space – there will be news from Faunia in a week or so. The last weeks were too tiresome for me to seriously interact with my muse. At least I took some photos on yesterday´s stroll with my beloved four-pawed-buddy Nando, and having my camera with me I also captured some (for me) everyday-views and quickly played around with colours to “jazz them up”. I really intend to take my camera with me more often, because then I take in my environment in a more intense way, especially when I walk around areas I find extremely familiar and normally would not pay attention to details. And – as you might have noticed – I find animals very inspiring, how they act and how they look, so there will be more of that in my blog´s “photo-corner”. But behold – this will not turn into a sole photo-blog ;-), as there are too many interesting areas in creativity to explore…
What about you, dear readers, what is your personal method of inspiration? How do you get yourself into a creative mood to start with a creative project, and keep up with it until it´s finished? I´d love to hear from you.
yes, it´s been a while (again!) since the last blogpost … life is busy and stressful at the moment and does not really leave much (head-) room for highly creative activities. But none the less, I´ve been sculpting along on the two brother-fauns (there will be a work-in-progress-report very soon) and taking my regular and always beautiful dog walks out in the country. Here are some pics – fresh from today´s stroll through nature, taken and transformed as usual in a completely spontanous way.
as I am busy working on my recent maquettes and doodling a bit by and by, at this point there is not really anything to show but I felt like posting a nice little something – so these snaps I did a few days ago come in handy. Again, I played around with them a bit, without a plan or concept what their transformations should look like in the end. I just started working on them and stopped when I liked the result 😉
I took these pics when trodding along my usual walking paths which I – I admit it – find quite ordinary. But when taking my camera with me on purpose and then taking a closer look of the views I captured when working on them, it does change my taking-for-granted-attitude each and every time. It´s nice out there! And spring is on it´s way! So enjoy and have a good week ahead.
