Moorish walkies- lovely views

When it comes to “walkies”, I´ve really been quite lucky so far – pawsome company, lovely landscapes…So this week I took a superchilled, handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback through the wonderful moorish forest area near the place where I work. The pictures hardly do the place justice, it really has a unique atmosphere, especially with the strange brooding skies, changing weathers with sun & drizzle adding a bit of drama. I enjoyed it tremendously and fortunately will be able to go back to explore the vast area some more. No wonder I ran into professional photographers twice there – it sure has a lot to offer with the vibrant colours of the different types of heather, the black and white bark of birches, flaming reddish-orange berries of the rowan trees and lush green grass.

Tiny Terrier Tommi: sunny walkies with a small sometimes fierce friend

Hello again,

had an enjoyable walk this mornng with one of the sweet shelter dogs, Tommi, who has accompanied me a few times before. Cute little fellow – friendly (except when meeting other dogs he somehow can´t stand, but hey – he´s a Terrier!) and agile, likes to hop on a bench and get cuddled real thoroughly. Lovely weather, cloudy but with a nice summer atmosphere, especially when being surrounded by high grass, wildflowers, fields and medows.

Bob, the dog – another cute buddy for walkies and new snaps

Hi,

brilliant weather for walkies as long as it´s not too hot. Yesterday was just lovely, I had sooo nice company, another shelter dog I really fell in love with, Bob. So sweet and friendly, so good-looking and cuddly, cheeky and playful…and he has these floppy puppy-ish ears, you know…aaawwww. I was really absolutely enchanted and enjoyed every minute of the walk, and so did he. He seems not to be used to deer, so his first encounter with those animals which are so common here was quite amusing as he commented the sighting with a surprised and deep-breast-baritone “Wuff?!”. It´s a bliss to be able to walk regularily with such wonderful dogs and I can only recommend it: if you like dogs and live near a rescue center / shelter, grab the chance. It is so rewarding and so joyful. Of course it can also be a bit heartbreaking, for I really really wanted to take this cutie home straight away. But one day it will happen. Anyway, the summer shows its beautiful rich colors and even though the day was a bit cloudy, I found the fields with all the different plants really beautiful. Although it´s my usual walking area, I never get bored – throughout all seasons, there´s plenty to see.

Walkies with some views – snaps transformed encore

Hi there – long time no see, I know.

Took quite a few walks recently, and enjoyed taking some pics & playing around a bit with the colors and structures. I was especially enchanted by the sunlight shimmering through the leaves, creating a subtle luminous and dreamy atmosphere which I found incredibly calming.

There is a new mixed media painting in the works, which I might post as work-in-progress update in the near future…we´ll see how it goes.

Hope you all enjoy the glorious spring weather.

Magic morning mist walkies

This morning´s walkies was absolutely magic! I walked through an amazing atmosphere with heavy morning mist, which lifted after some time with the sun finally breaking through, lightening up everything like a beacon, enhancing colours and details – it really was breathtaking. I am no professional photographer – at moments like this I wish I were, to capture nature´s beauty more adequately. But still – the joy of such days, especially when you can hardly believe what you see and are at awe with each step you take, that joy sure lasts.

Some fallen trees

These days, a lot of fallen trees caught my attention. Even though sad that the recent storm killed so many of them, they have not lost their beauty which I enjoyed capturing by camera.

These pics mostly were taken during my recent evening walkies with one of my favorite four-pawed buddies, Rudi (yes, he is a dog event though he looks like and feels like a big fluffy teddy bear).

Autumnal wolf-walkies: nice views and crisp weather

So,

here again some new pictures from my recent walkies which were just wonderful – I enjoy the autumnal colors of nature, the crisp fresh air and the wildlife sightings along the way. Accompanied with one of the three adorable Alaskans, I cannot wish for better saturday mornings. 2 hours of steady and quick walking – obviously with some photo stops (and some cuddles) – and the weekend can start.

musher-walkies

Today, I was lucky to walk with a gorgeous, friendly and…ahem…lively purebred Alaskan Malamute.

Our local shelter presently has 3 of these remarkable dogs from a dog breeder who had to resolve his business. It was a joy to spend the morning with Hardy outdoors, and he sure is very very charming. It´s the first time I encountered an Alaskan Malamute that close and I really am absolutely enchanted.

Maybe next Saturday I bring my running shoes and do him a bit more justice by speeding the “walkies” up a bit…gee!…haw!… 😉
